At Clay Cove, you will learn hand-building methods such as pinching, coiling, slab-building and hollowing.
Hand-building is flexible as it enables us to challenge ourselves in the endless possibilities of shapes and forms with clay as a medium to create unique pottery artworks.

Hand-building Pottery Course

Fundamental hand-building techniques
COURSE FEE
$720 for 9 sessions (2 hours each)
The fee includes basic clay, glazes and firing of pottery artworks.
Hand-building is a great way to create unique and personalised pottery artworks. In this course, you will learn four hand-building pottery making methods, which are Pinching, Coiling, Slab-building and Hollowing. Participants who are keen in clay sculpturing could additionally request the instructor to teach them.
By the end of this course, you will create, decorate and glaze 6 pottery artworks.
Banding Wheel Pottery Course*

COURSE FEE
$700 for 8 sessions (2 hours each)
The fee includes basic clay, glazes and firing of pottery artworks.
For those who like symmetrical forms, you might like to join us for the Banding Wheel course. Using manual wheel is a traditional method. You will build the artwork by adding layer and layer of coiled clay. In spinning the wheel, you can shape and trim the pottery to attain the concentricity and smoothness. The repetitive process of building and trimming with the Banding Wheel can be very therapeutic.
By the end of each course, you will build, trim, and glaze 4 unique pottery artworks!
